As her bedroom is her sanctuary, I don't mind letting her creative spirit flourish - within reason. Certain elements must remain classic and unchanged - like her bed, desk and dresser, which are all white. The walls are also antique white and the floor is timber. That essentially leaves a blank canvas that can be personalised to her whimsical heart's content quite easily and most importantly - budget-friendly... A few pictures on the walls, new curtains, quilt cover, cushions and a rug...done!
Right now she is absolutely horse crazy... This is not a new thing - she has been in love with horses since she was five years old, but has been riding a lot more this past year and is at the age where she feels connected to the inner beauty of these powerful and majestic animals. She also loves the colour blue and has requested a country palette of blues and browns. Although she is by no means a girly-girl, we don't want her room looking too boyish either. So here is my inspiration board for her rustic equestrian room:
